The Robert L. Lindsey Lectures 2003

30 August – 18 September, 2003

Salvation and the Jews in Christian Theology: Covenantal Theology and the Lost Doctrine of Love

The Lindsey Lectures pay tribute to the life of Rev. Robert L. Lindsey, Ph.D. (Aug. 16, 1917- May 31, 1995). These seminars demonstrate academic rigor based on the study of Jesus within Second Temple Period Judaism and are applied with lives of faith.

This second year of the Lindsey Lectures were focused around the above theme, Salvation and the Jews in Christian Theology: Covenantal Theology and the Lost Doctrine of Love sparked by Lindsey’s 1972 article, “Salvation and the Jews,” International Review of Mission (1972): 20-37. Three presentations were made over three Shabbat mornings in relation to Lindsey’s themes and a concluding evening lecture and panel discussion concluded the 2003 Lindsey Lectures. It is with great sadness that our revered friend and teacher, and the keynote speaker from last year’s Lindsey Lectures, Prof. Shmuel Safrai, passed away on July 16, 2003.

All lectures were held at 4 Narkis Street, Jerusalem.
